Chisinau City’s Day will be celebrated during two days, on October 14 and 15. The Chisinau City Hall prepared an artistic program with concerts, painting exhibitions, craft fairs, traditional dishes and other surprises, IPN reports.
At 8am, flowers will be laid at the Monument to Ruler Stephan the Great and Holy. A religious ceremony will be held at the Metropolitan Cathedral “God’s Birth”.
The official opening of the festivities will take place at 10am in the Square of the Metropolitan Cathedral “God’s Birth”. A series of performances of music involving Mihai Ciobanu, Marin Ganciu, Gabriel Nebunu and Brio Sonores, Nicu Țurcanu and Cristian Prepeliuc, Aliona Triboi, Gicu Cimbir, Vali Boghean Band, the Advahov Brothers’ Orchestra with Zinaida Julea, Igor Cuciuc and Carolina Gorun and the band “Zdob și Zdub” will be given during the day.
Carla’s Dreams is the special guest of the even. It will give a concert between 10pm and 11pm.
The performances in the Great National Assembly Square the next day start at 11am with a collection of songs about Chisinau, which will be followed by concerts by artistic groups of municipal educational institutions, the bands “Cristal”, “Megapolis”, Aurica and Valeriu Cordineanu, Ricu Vodă, Sergiu Țurcan, Mihai Ciobanu, Maria Iliuţ, Veta Ghimpu-Munteanu, Igor Rusu, Constantin Moscovici, Doina Sulac, Marin Ganciu, Viorica Lupu, “DoReDoS”, “Romanița”. The shows will end with a recital by “Lupii lui Calancea” starting at 10:15pm.
