The Chisinau City Hall reacted to the putting up of tents on Stefan cel Mare si Sfant Blvd. In a press statement, it says that the protest is aimed at violating public order and at hampering traffic on the main artery of Chisinau, IPN reports.
“The protest is held in breach of the Law on Assembly, which stipulates that the meetings aimed at violating public order or the rights and freedoms of other persons are banned. In the given situation, the public order is definitely violated. The public transport is hindered and the residents of Chisinau municipality cannot travel through the city’s streets,” reads the statement.
The Chisinau City Hall filed a lawsuit so that the court bans the holding of the protest on Stefan cel Mare si Sfant Blvd.
The section of Stefan cel Mare Blvd between the streets Serghei Lazo and Maria Cebotari was blocked by sympathizers of the Party of Socialists and the Political Party “Our Party”. These put up tents on the roadway, blocking traffic.
