Chisinau City Hall will sign contract with trolleybus supplier Nov. 3
The Chisinau City Hall will be able to purchase more trolleybuses than initially planned – 102 not 90, the director of the Trolleybus Company Gheorghe Margoci said. The contract with the supplier, whose name has not been yet made known, will be signed on November 3, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The contract between the City Hall and the Chisinau Trolleybus Company will be signed in several days. Discussions are held on the contract for the supply of trolleybuses. “As a result of negotiations, we agreed that a higher number of trolleybuses will be bought with the allocated money,” Gheorghe Margoci said. He announced that a contract for the overhaul of the vehicles after the guarantee expires is negotiated in parallel with the supplier.
Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said the name of the supplier will be made public after the signing of the contract as this is a conditions imposed by one of the lenders. He stated the tender contest was held in accordance with the requirements of the creditors. Another tender contest will be announced to purchase the necessary equipment.
The cost of the project is €13.7 million, including €0.7 million technical assistance. €5 million represents a loan from the EBRD, another €5 million – a loan from the EIB, while €3million was provided by the European Union as a grant
