Chisinau City Hall will ask CMC to allocate additional funds for liquidating consequences of floods

The agenda of the first meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) after vacation, which is scheduled for September 11, will include an additional item – the allocation of 2.229 million lei for the liquidation of the consequences of floods, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to deputy mayor Vladimir Cotet, such a sum was obtained after assessing all the damage caused by floods to real estate. “I discussed with every family and all said they agree to repair their dwellings if they receive this money,” Cotet said at Monday’s meeting of the Chisinau City Hall. “I hope that all the municipal councilors will support and understand us,” said Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca. He instructed the commission that assessed the damage caused by floods to prepare and submit the necessary set of documents for examination. If the draft decision is accepted, the money will be allotted from the municipal budget. After paying a visit to Vadul lui Voda town on September 4, the CMC president Eduard Musuc said that the Council will consider allocating 350,000 lei for restoring the barrage over the Nistru. 218,000 lei will be offered from the municipal reserve fund for fitting up the recreational area in Vadul lui Voda. A sum of 10.6 million lei has been allocated so far from the reserve fund for alleviating the consequences of floods.
