The Chisinau Municipal Council approved the taking out of a 130 million loan for the assembly of 35 trolleybuses, five of which articulated ones, by the end of this year, IPN reports.
The loan will be raised from a national commercial bank and will be repayable in seven years at a yearly interest rate of 6.9% a year.
By the end of 2023, the municipal authorities aim to assemble a total of 90 trolleybuses, 20 of which will be articulated ones.
“The citizens of Chisinau should have modern and high-quality transport. This is not a whim of ours. It is a basic necessity for a city located in the heart of Europe,” mayor Ion Ceban posted on Facebook.
