The Chisinau City Hall won more than 15 million lei in a land auction held last week. There were exhibited nine plots, four of which for sale, while five for rent, Info-Prim Neo reports. In Monday’s meeting of the City Hall, deputy mayor Nistor Grozavu said that more money is obtained from selling small plots of land. In 2010, the Chisinau administration put up for sale only small plots, on which to build private homes and commercial buildings for providing services for the population. Chief architect of Chisinau Vlad Modarca said that at least two plots were sold at a price that was much higher than the initial one. A multistory car park was sold for 4.5 million lei, which is 100 times higher than the initial one. A private house that occupies six ares on Ghidighici St in Chisinau was sold for 3.6 million lei. Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca said that regardless of their kind, the auctions must be public and transparent. They will be announced beforehand on the City Hall’s website. In the land auctions held this year, the Chisinau administration gained 49 million lei.
