Chisinau City Hall, heat supplier Termocom fail to reach agreement
The Municipality's proposal to pay its debt to heat supplier SA Termocom, in stages till December, has not been accepted by the latter, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The local authorities owe Termocom 197 million lei more, from the arrears formed because of the difference of the heat charge payed by the people. The City Hall transferred a new lot to the supplier, worth 20 million lei. Its debt was 331 million lei last year, the legal direction head, Diana Gurschi, said at Monday's City Hall's sitting. According to her, the Municipality's debt to Termocom now represents only 15% of the total arrears of the Chisinau consumers.
Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca has asked the supplier to produce a list of people without debts to Termocom. If it turns out there are really vulnerable people there, the City Hall will try to help them out.
SA Termocom issued a communique on September 12 reading that the City Hall's debts amount to 220 million lei.
Termocom's press unit has told Info-Prim Neo the company will soon issue a statement on its refusal to accept the staggered payment of the Municipality's debt.
