Chisinau City Hall halts issuing authorizations for constructing and demolishing architectural monuments
The Chisinau City Hall stopped issuing urbanism certificates and authorizations for the construction or demolition of buildings included in the Register of Monuments of National and Municipal Importance, which was approved in 1995. The ban on issuing such documents will be lifted after the new Register of Monuments of Municipal Importance is approved, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a communiqué from the City Hall, the new Register will be compiled by October 2011. Meanwhile, plates with information will be installed on the facades of the buildings that are classed as architectural monuments. Under an order made by Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca, the General Police Commissariat will impose penalties on the owners and persons involved in unauthorized works.
