Communist councilor Valentin Todercan accused the deputy head of the Chisinau Culture Division Ianos Turcanu of forging documents. In the April 2 meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council, he said that the functionary is mentioned in an inspection act of the National Anticorruption Center, IPN reports.
Valentin Todercan said the Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca forces the honest ones away from the local administration and keeps those who break the law. “The head of Rascani district Mihai Cirlig is a relevant example. He fell into disgrace after criticizing the mayor. Those who praise Chirtoaca are protected. These persons with false diplomas are philologists and journalists,” stated the councilor.
Dorin Chirtoaca said he knows about the accusations made against the deputy head of the Culture Division, but is waiting for proofs. “If it’s proven that Ianos Turcanu works with forged documents, he will be dismissed immediately. When I have confirmation, I will act in accordance with the law,” he said.
Valentin Todercan clarified for IPN that Ianos Turcanu is mentioned in an act containing the findings of an inspection at the Culture Division, which was initiated by the Anticorruption Center in 2011. At the same time, the National Anticorruption Center’s press officer Angela Starinschi said that the Center hasn't initiated any criminal proceedings against Turcanu.
