Following the recent cases of corruption identified by anticorruption officers, the Chisinau City Hall has called upon the population and companies to denounce the corrupt functionaries, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the City Hall. On May 5, employees of the Anticorruption Center arrested an employee of the City Hall’s Law Division on suspicion that he asked for €10,000 from an economic entity that has been in litigation with the City Hall. On May 7, the police caught the chairman of the Private Carriers Association in his office in the act of taking €300 bribe from the owner of a minibus running on route No. 105 for his permission to keep the bus on the route. Ion Mamaliga told Info-Prim Neo that this case was ‘pure provocation’.
