Chisinau City Hall and central authorities came to a preliminary agreement concerning the City Day and Wine Day
Even though a final decision is not set, the preliminary agreement between the City Hall and “Moldova Wine” Agency specifies that the City Day and Wine Day will not be celebrated on the same day of October 14, Info-Prim Neo News Agency learned from Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca.
According to the respective agreement, the Wine Day will be celebrated on October 13, while on October 14 the City Hall will reserve a couple of hours for the Wine Day organisers to hand over prizes on the Central Square.
The Chisinau City Hall previously solicited that “Moldova Wine” establishes another date for celebrating the Wine Day, in order to avoid overlap with the City Day of Chisinau. The Mayor stated that he wouldn’t wish to exclude a holiday for the sake of other, but still considers that in this situation the Chisinau City Day prevails.
The Mayor also pleaded for a friendly resolution of the problem. On a contrary case, the City Hall will be compelled to authorise the celebration of only one holiday on that day, said the Mayor.
