Chisinau Central Market has new administration

The municipal enterprise “Central Market” has a new director. This is businessman Viorel Braga, who was presented in the June 24 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, IPN reports.

Acting mayor of Chisinau Ruslan Codreanu proposed Vlad Nicolaescu and Ion Romanenko for the posts of vice director, but these are to be confirmed by the director of the Central Market.

“My request to the colleagues, as to the previous directors, is to ensure communication with all the business entities, to support the national producers, to create appropriate conditions, to modernize the Central Market and clean up the adjoining area, to ensure transparency and online services,” stated Ruslan Codreanu.

Viorel Braga said it is too early to make statements as he is to collect facts first. Asked by journalists in what area he works, the new director said he operates in public alimentation and started his business in 2010. He aims to institute changes so that the national products are given priority as they are safe for consumers’ health.

Last weekend, Ruslan Codreanu dismissed the administration of the Central Market amid accusations of corruption made by traders and business entities operating on the market’s territory.
