Chisinau cabbie ends up in power pole after falling asleep
A Chisinau cabdriver ran into a power poll on Muncesti Street after he fell asleep at the wheel.
The collision caused serious injuries to the driver, who was diagnosed with fracture of the mandible, head trauma and brain concussion, a spokesperson for the Emergency Hospital said.
Two young men were also hospitalized after the car they were traveling in crashed into a structure in Chisinau’s Telecentru district. The 27-year-old driver sustained brain concussion, while the 26-year-old occupant broke his right forearm. The car was wrecked and the wall of the structure crumbled.
A 13-year-old boy fell about 3 meters from a tree, suffering open fracture of the left forearm. The teenager was admitted to Valentin Ignatenco Hospital.
On September 12, the Chisinau Emergency Service responded to 667 calls, including 53 cases of acute viral diseases, 20 cases of acute diarrheic diseases, 76 cases of trauma and 9 brain strokes.
