Ten new tractors equipped with trailers, snow plows, rotary sweepers and salt spreaders have reached the Public Amenities Directorate. The equipment will be used all year round to sweep streets, collect debris and remove snow.

The equipment, worth 6 million lei, will be distributed among the municipal enterprises handling public spaces and amenities in each of the city’s five districts.

At a ceremony to present the purchase, Directorate head Ion Burdiumov said the tractors are very maneuverable and can be operated in narrow spaces like sidewalks, courtyards, or bus stops.

Acting mayor Ruslan Codreanu announced the municipality plans to buy more specialized equipment this year, including five skid-steer loaders and five dumper trucks.

In the last two years, about half of the motor pool operated by the Public Amenities Directorate has been renewed, and the this year’s budget destined for procurement is 14 million lei, double on last year.
