A businessman was shot in the head Wednesday evening while he was working at his office in Chisinau. Silvia Babara, doctor coordinator at the Chisinau Emergency Service, told Info-Prim Neo that the man, 53, was in his office on 20 Miron Costin Str when at around 6:45 pm he was shot at through the window. The bullet hit the man in the back of the head, but he survived the gunshot and was admitted to the Emergency Hospital. The case is now handled by the police. Last nigh, a young man, 21, died from an overdose of injected drugs. A street male person, thought to be about 70, was found dead on Ginta Latina Str, shortly after midnight. At around the same time, an unidentified young man in his early 20s was found unconscious and in critical condition on Maria Dragan Str. Apparently dead-drunk, the young man suffered brain concussion and had multiple bruises of the head. During a domestic fight, a woman was stabbed to the buttock by his husband. The received injury required medical assistance. Over the past 24 hours, the Emergency Service recorded 852 calls, responding to 59 cases of trauma, 156 cases of acute viral diseases, 47 cases of mumps and 9 brain strokes.
