The drivers who will park their vehicles illegally would find their cars at the police or at parking lots, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the head of the Municipal Police Silviu Musuc, the Parliament is to adopt new regulations concerning unauthorized parking. When they come into force, the motor vehicles parked illegally will be taken to car parks. The traffic police now remove the license plates of the units of transport parked illegally. A number of 125 license plates have been taken away this year. In November 2002, the Government of Moldova decided to remove all the paid parking lots situated on roadway or public streets. Fourteen such lots were closed and the revenues into the Chisinau budget fell by at least 150,000 lei a year. There are more than 200,000 units of transport registered in Chisinau. About 50,000 vehicles cross the capital city daily.
