A man was severely injured in an explosion that happened in an apartment under repair located in Chisinau's Botanica district on July 28. Liliana Puscasu, spokeswoman for the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the cause of the explosion is being established. Allegedly, the blast was caused by a highly flammable material. The first firefighting vehicle was on the scene in nine minutes, while the second later, the quoted source said. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, managing doctor at the Chisinau Ambulance Service Eufalia Negreata said the 34-year-old man was carrying out repair works in the apartment. He received fist-, second- and third-degree burns on about 60% of the body. Witnesses said a bottle of lacquer for floor board exploded because of the heat.
