Chisinau and Tiraspol examine how previous agreements are implemented
A new meeting between the political representatives to the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks on behalf of Chisinau and Tiraspol took place on January 26. Victor Osipov and Vladimir Yastrebcheak met at the OSCE Mission's Office in Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to an official communique, the two officials discussed issues concerning the implementation of the agreements on the promotion of confidence-building measures reached at the meetings in Vienna and Bender. Victor Osipov spoke about the measures taken in this respect by the Moldovan authorities, mentioning the Government's decision to extend the procedures for declaring goods by the Transnistrian economic entities and for obtaining Moldovan passports by the Transnistrian population for an indefinite period.
The interlocutors reiterated the necessity of stimulating the confidence-building working groups and agreed to hold a joint meeting of the coordinators of the given groups representing Chisinau and Tiraspol in the first half of February. They welcomed the initiative of the Kazakh chairmanship of the OSCE to organize a new meeting in the 5+2 format in the near future.
