Chisinau and Comrat reach agreement about graduates who failed Romanian exam
Lyceum graduates who failed the Romanian exam will be able to continue their studies not only in professional schools, as previously announced, but in colleges as well. The compromise was reached during a meeting between Prime Minister Vlad Filat and Governor of Gagauzia Mihail Formuzal, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The students will get the chance to repeat the Romanian exam within next year’s baccalaureate session and will afterwards be allowed to continue their studies at a higher education institution.
According to the Government's press service, the Prime Minister backed the Gagauz authorities’ initiative regarding the implementation of an experimental program of studying both the official and the Gagauz languages in the autonomy’s kindergartens.
Vlad Filat announced that additional funds would be allotted from the state budget from 2012 in order to improve the quality of teaching Romanian in all the education institutions in Moldova.
Mihai Formuzal declared that this compromise created the possibility to have a serious dialogue to fully solve this complex problem, informs the Government press service.
