The Public Amenities Division of Chisinau, in concert with the district head’s offices, during a week will work out a map that will show the areas managed by business entities that these are obliged to clean, following a request made by acting mayor Ruslan Codreanu.

In the November 26 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, Ruslan Codreanu said he paid a number of visits to Alba-Iulia St and Mircea cel Bătrân Blvd and ascertained there are a lot of companies that manage areas there, event on sidewalks. Some of these do not clean those areas. Furthermore, units of transport are parked there, preventing the snowplows from doing their work. “There are areas adjoining retail outlets and the companies should clean not only the first stair of the entrance, but also the space in front of the sidewalk,” he stated.

Contacted by IPN, the head of the Public Amenities Division Ion Burdiumov said practically 90% of the economic entities do not comply with the legislation and do not clean the areas close to their offices. These often argue they don’t know what area they are responsible for. Thus, when the map is worked out, the areas that should be cleared of snow or leaves will be delimited.

The business entities that do not clean the areas of which they are in charge face fines of about 9,000 lei.
