A Chisinau ambulance was the target of an attack last night. According to the police, an individual fired a pneumatic gun and the bullet penetrated a lateral window of the vehicle, IPN reports.

The ambulance driver said the incident happened when the doctor and his assistant went to provide medical care to a person in an apartment situated on Dacia Blvd. in Botanica district. He went out of the car for some fresh air and this saved him. The bullet passed near his ear and hit the window, which broke up. It happened at about 00.20.

Contacted by IPN, head of the press service of the Chisinau Police Division Adrian Jovmir said the individual who fired was identified and is to be arrested. He shot from a pneumatic gun from a building of the yard where the ambulance was. The shooter will most probably be tried for hooliganism. He allegedly wanted to have fund.

No permit is required for carrying pneumatic guns.
