The Chisinau City Hall allocated 3.35 mln lei in subsidies for putting to school about 6,700 children from socially vulnerable families at the start of this school year. According to Tatiana Tverdohleb, head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sports, the socially vulnerable families were offered by 500 lei for a child. The allowances this year were by 100 lei larger than last year. A number of 30 children were out of school in the municipality of Chisinau on September 1, as against 89 children last year. Over a month, the number of children that were not attending the school decreased to 12. If more out of school children are identified during the year, the families of these children will receive the allowance of 500 lei, Tatiana Tverdohleb said.
