Chisinau administration might claim 25m lei damages in Ciocarlia case
The Chisinau City Hall could ask damages of 25 million lei in the Ciocarlia case. In Monday’s meeting of City Hall officials, the head of the Legal Division Diana Gursch said the sum is not final. Calculations will be done on the basis of the normative price for land set in the legislation, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The case concerns the sale of a plot of 2.4 hectares located on Ciocarliei St for a price that was ten times lower than the market value. The plot is said to belong to the Voronin family. The case involves former acting mayor of Chisinau Vasile Ursu, the head of the Land Division Nicolae Craciun, and the former acting secretary of the Municipal Council Nicolae Monastarli.
Diana Gurschi said a part of the damages will be claimed from Moldconstruct Market, which won the tender contest. The company did not build a church and a kindergarten as stipulated in the purchase contract.
The plot situated on Ciocarliei St was put up for sale in July 2006 at the initial price of 30 million lei. In a month, the Municipal Council offered it again for sale for 3 million lei. The plot was sold for 4.5 million lei in October.
