Ch The Chisinau City Hall will submit the strategy for managing the local land resources to the City Council for approval at its next meeting. The document contains measures aimed at more efficiently using the land resources for increasing the taxation base and at stimulating investments, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the City Hall. The land stock in Chisinau totals 12,300 hectares divided according to their purpose. As there is no effective land resources utilization scheme and the framework for regulating the use of these resources is outdated, about 600 hectares of land, which are mainly industrial and commercial plots, cannot be taxed, says the communique. As a result, in 2008 alone the local authorities failed to collect about 50 million lei in revenues, while 45 million lei could not be collected owing to the imperfect legislation regulating the privatization and leasing out of plots adjoining private facilities. The document was formulated in accordance with the General Urban Plan of Chisinau approved in 2007 and the urbanism regulations adopted in 2007. The strategy for managing the land resources will help ensure the sustainable development of the municipality of Chisinau.
