Chirtoaca promises to modernize infrastructure
Dressed in coveralls and wielding a spade, Liberal Dorin Chirtoaca on Thursday presented his plans to modernize infrastructure in the event he is reelected as Chisinau Mayor. In front of cameras, Dorin Chirtoaca even offered his help to a group of water utility laborers in changing a pipe.
“We wanted to show once again which are the key functions of public administration, what we did during the last 4 years, what we intend to do in the next 4 years, and, of course, which are the priorities for the future. These actions are aimed to show everybody, in particular to our contestants, which are the basic functions of a mayor: to organize work in such a way that everything works smoothly. The key functions of a mayor is to work every day in order to modernize the city, not to falsify documents, engage in circus activities and absurd allegations”, stated Dorin Chirtoaca, alluding to the Communist candidate.
Chirtoaca promises to modernize both underground and overground infrastructure. His plans include replacing about 70 kilometers of water pipes, and 50 kilometers of roads each year. Also, all the public transport vehicles are to be replaced. To the 100 recently bought trolleybuses, Chirtoaca plans to add 150 other trolleybuses and 100 buses. Street lights will be also replaced with modern, electricity-saving and long serving equipment.
