The Liberal Democratic Party is for choosing a common candidate for the presidency of Moldova together with the extraparliamentary parties of the right, MP Chiril Lucinschi stated in the program “Place for dialogue” on the public station Radio Moldova, IPN reports.
“We want to contribute to designating a common candidate. With the parliamentary parties, of the right or of the left, we will not discuss. We want to discuss with the Platform “Dignity and Truth” , with Maia Sandu’s Action and Solidarity Party, with the Liberal Reformist Party and other parties,” said Chiril Lucinschi.
The Lib-Dem also said that the Democratic Party pursued a goal when it set the date of the presidential elections for October 30. “The more they delay the presidential elections, the greater the danger is for the state to be fully captured,” he stated.
The Liberal-Democratic MP noted that holding the presidential elections on July 3, as his party suggested, was an optimal variant. “Given the will of the people who want to choose their Head of State as soon as possible, the date of July 3 was the most suitable. On the one hand, the timeframe provided in the Constitution would have been met. On the other hand, time would have remained for the election campaign too,” said Chiril Lucinschi.
