Those 2.4 million dollars, offered by the People’s Republic of China, in two stages, during 2003-2006, for supplying with modern equipment the Experimental Republican Center of Prosthesis, Orthopedics and Rehabilitation (ERCPOR) were turned to good account. On Friday, May 26, at ERCPOR took place the inauguration of the dental, physiotherapy, kinetotherapy and imagism room and a clinical laboratory. In the same day, the Chinese Government signed the agreement regarding the medical equipment. At the festivity participated the vice prime-minister Zinaida Greceanii and the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of PRC to the Republic of Moldova, Jianwei Gong, and also representatives of the Ministry of Health. The mentioned rooms were supplied with last generation modern technology. At present, 82.5 thosand patients are registered at ERCPOR, who have different diseases, inclusively invalids, and war veterans. For their medical treatment 38 doctor, 49 medical assistances and 46 hospital nurses are working at the centre. According to the head of ERCPOR, Vasile Ouatu, the first share amounting to 1.2 million dollars, allowed renewing at 70% the equipment of the prosthesis cabinet and at 30% the equipment of the special shoes room, 2 MAN buses were purchased: one for passengers and the other reequipped in a mobile hospital. Also 15 computers, diagnostic and treatment equipments were purchased. Within the second share of other 1.2 million USD, 76 medical equipments were donated. According to the quoted source, supplying ERCPOR with modern equipment will allow to cure not only persons registered at the center, but also other persons from regions which need supplementary special investigations or have severe diseases.
