Chinese company to build roads in Moldova

Deputy Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure Boris Gherasim, who accompanies Premier Vlad Filat in Beijing, signed an agreement to implement the first road infrastructure project launched by Sinohydro Corporation in Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Government's press service. The value of the project is US$62.4 million. “The cooperation with Moldova is very important to us. We intend to implement valuable projects in your country,” Sinohydro president Fan Jixiang said after the signing. The works are projected to begin this year. Prime Minister Vlad Filat voiced hope that this project, which is the biggest one implemented by a Chinese company in Moldova, will represent an important step in the cooperation between Moldova and Sinohydro. Sinohydro's annual turnover is about US$3 billion. The company launched projects in over 50 countries and employs more than 13,000 persons there.
