The Chinese companies are interested in investing in Moldova, Deputy Minister of Economy of China Jiang Zengwei said in a Moldovan-Chinese Investment Forum that was stage by the Association of Businessmen on November 14. Deputy Head of Parliament Andrian Candu said that favorable conditions were created in Moldova for investment activity, IPN reports.

Jiang Zengwei said that Moldova offers opportunities to the Chinese companies owing to its geographic position and the fact that it has a free trade agreement with the CIS countries and plans to sign such an agreement with the EU. “We must use Moldova’s advantages. The integration into the EU plays a very important role. The Chinese investments have enormous prospects as the Chinese companies will use Moldova as a market for production and export to the European countries,” said the deputy minister.

He underlined the Chinese investors’ interest in taking part in infrastructure projects in Moldova and China’s intention to increase the imports of Moldovan wine.

Andrian Candu stressed that Moldova offers good opportunities to investors owing to its geographic position and to the possibilities created for developing a business.

The income tax is 12%. Concessions are offered for working within Free Economic Zones and industrial parks. Moldova signed agreements on the avoidance of double taxation with 48 counties, while the starting of a business does not necessitate much time and costs. Another attractive factor for investors is the labor force that is cheaper that in the region.

“Moldova has a favorable geographic position and serves like a bridge between the East and the West. It can also be a platform for making Chinese goods and exporting them to the East and West,” said Andrian Candu.

The forum was organized with the aim of presenting the investment opportunities of Moldova to a group of important Chinese investors. On this occasion, the foreign guests will meet with Moldovan officials and with over 100 representatives of Moldovan businesses.
