China will offer Moldova a non-reimbursable military aid to the total sum of CNY 3 mln (MDL 4.68 mln). This aid was promised to the former Minister of Defence, Valeriu Plesca, during a visit to China in November 2005. The humanitarian aid will include equipment and material goods for the endowment of the National Army of Moldova. The Government has approved a decision on the beginning of negotiations between the Moldovan Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of National Defence of PRC on the implementation protocol of this agreement. Also, the protocol includes expanding the present cooperation between Moldova and People’s Republic of China in the military field by supporting the Army of Moldova with equipment and material goods. The ministries of the two countries signed a Cooperation Agreement in Beijing on June 24, 2002.
