China to offer tablet PCs to Moldovan educational institutions attended by Ukrainian students

The People’s Republic of China will provide over 1,500 tablet PCs to educational institutions that are attended by students from Ukrainian refugee families, IPN reports.

Minister of Education and Research Anatolie Topală said the tablet PCs will facilitate access to studies. He noted that Moldova fruitfully cooperates with the People’s Republic of China, including in education. “We have enjoyed the support of the People’s Republic of China in a number of difficult moments. We were donated IT equipment during the pandemic too. A series of institutions, including higher educational ones, received donations,” said the official.

Even if China is far from Moldova, this donation reached the country during a very short period of time. The devices will be soon distributed to educational institutions, primarily those that are attended by a large number of Ukrainian refugee students for them to benefit from the devices needed in the educational process, stated the minister.

China’s Ambassador to Moldova Yan Wenbin said that Moldova and the people of Moldova have made considerable effort to help the Ukrainian refugees. “As a good friend and a reliable partner, China lent a hand to the Republic of Moldova. Last March, the Government of China decided to offer Moldova batches of urgent humanitarian aid to the total value of 5 million Yuan,” stated the diplomat.

Yan Wenbin noted that the Embassy recently learned that the Ukrainian students face difficulties in studying remotely because they do not have equipment. An urgent decision was taken to offer tablet PCs to help the children. The tablet PCs will be immediately distributed to refugees and will have a positive effect on the educational process.
