China will offer Moldova non-reimbursable financial assistance of 60 million Yuan (US$9.5 million) to Moldova for implementing social projects. The agreement was signed by Prime Minister Vlad Filat and China’s Ambassador in Chisinau Fang Li on December 15, Info-Prim Neo reports. “This sum is the largest assistance provided by China to Moldova since the country proclaimed its independence. If we calculate the amount per capita, it is US$3 dollars per Moldovan. China hopes that this money will be used in the interests of all the Moldovans, to implement socioeconomic projects,” the Chinese Ambassador said in the signing ceremony. The diplomat also said that the friendship relations between Moldova and China are very close. Even if it has a large population and many poor people, his country provides support to the developing countries. Vlad Filat assured that concrete projects will be proposed for financing in the near future. “We have hospitals that need special equipment. We want to install video cameras to supervise traffic and to buy computers for dormitories. There are also other projects of social interest that will be financed with the money offered by China,” he said. The Premier thanked the ambassador for the work done in Moldova. Fang Li completed his duties in Moldova. After the New Year, he will return to his country together with his family.
