Children’s theater Gigilici seeking sponsors
The puppet theater Gigilici makes an appeal to sponsors to support the project “A smile for those who are sadder than we” that is implemented for the seventh time. The theater’s director Gheorghe Triboi has told Info-Prim Neo that he has a pile of messages of thanks from the children’s homes where the actors staged plays.
According to Gheorghe Triboi, €2,000-€2,500 is needed to mount a play, depending on the agreements reached with the stage manager, script writer and others. There are three teams of three actors each working at “Gigilici”.
“We put on charity, spring and autumn plays, but most of the plays are performed in winter. If we find sponsors then we go to the children with gifts from Santa Claus. But it is hard to find persons or organizations that want to financially support us. We invite the people to see that we spend money on making the children smile, not on personal needs,” said Gheorghe Triboi.
He also said that if the actors perform in a settlement where there is a children’s home, they stage at least one play there free of charge. “Since September 1 until now, we have had performances in 14 orphanages already,” stated the director.
There are about 6,000 children in the children’s homes of Moldova.
