The children’s summer camp “Floricica” in Vadul lui Voda town stopped work on July 25, director of the Municipal Public Health Center Constantin Ramis announced in Monday’s meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, Info-Prim Neo reports. The decision to close the camp was taken after 35 children resting there and children of the Ministry of the Interior’s Rehabilitation Center who ate at the camp’s canteen suffered food poisoning last week. Mayor of Chisinau municipality Dorin Chirtoaca requested that the Prosecutor General’s Office be informed about the fact that the mayor of Vadul lui Voda did not react to this incident. “We win the elections by the first round and then hide in the weeds. How can it happen that the camp where the niece of Communist Eva Gudumac (academician, doctor habilitate in medicine, pediatric surgeon – e.n.) works does not respect the elementary norms?” asked the mayor. Constantin Ramis said that most of the Vadul lui Voda summer camps that were inspected do not fully observe the sanitary conditions. The dishes in some of the camps are not washed according to the hygienic rules and the food products are not under strict control. Most of the camps are overcrowded. On July 23, Dorin Chirtoaca paid unplanned visits to the summer camps in in Vadul lui Voda where irregularities had been identified. He ordered penalizing all those who in the previous meetings of the municipal subdivisions reported that the situation in the camps is satisfactory. Since the start of the summer season, the Municipal Public Health Center has issued 10 sanitary prescriptions for the inspected Vadul lui Voda camps.
