The children will no longer be involved in activities to promote non-recommended food products. An order to this effect was made by Minister of Health Ruxanda Glavan. The list includes products with a high content of sugar, fat, salt and food additives whose nutritive value is higher than 300 kilocalories per 100 grams, IPN reports.
Thus, the children will not be involved in advertisements for candies, chocolate, chips, hamburgers, sandwiches, pizza, sausages, salty hazelnuts, cooling and energizing drinks. It is also banned involving minors in the promotion of such condiments as vinegar, pepper, mustard, horseradish, ketchup, and other similar products.
By order of the Ministry of Health, the chief doctors of the Public Health Centers will make sure that the children in general education institutions have a balanced menu and there is no promotional information that can endanger the health of children of preschool age and students.
Under the Contravention Code, those who will not respect these provisions will be fined 500 to 7,500 lei in the case of private individuals and 5,000 to 25,000 in the case of legal entities.
