Children to make martsishors under guidance of people’s master Natalia Cangea

Children from creation centers situated in different districts of Moldova will make martsishors at a workshop that will be conducted by people’s master Natalia Cangea and will offer them as presents in a charity event on March 1, IPN reports.

The workshop, which will take place on February 21, matches the decision to declare the Martsishor a part of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The workshop will be held in the hall on the second floor of the Parliament Building starting at 1pm. The same day, Parliament will host an exhibition of traditional Romanian and Bulgarian martsishors and martsishors from the collection of the Museum of Ethnography and Natural History of Moldova and of works made in different regions of the country.

In December 2017, the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage decided to inscribe the multinational file “Cultural practices associated to the 1st of March - common file of the Republic of Moldova Romania, Bulgaria and Macedonia” on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
