Children rights ombudsperson asks General Prosecutor’s Office to intervene in case of police allegedly molesting child

The children rights ombudsperson, Tamara Plamadeala, has asked the General Prosecutor’s Office to contribute to solve the case of the minor alleging he was molested by policemen, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the Human Rights Center, which employs the Moldovan ombudsmen. The case was privatized by Moldovan media. The 11-year-old boy lives in Hancesti town. Suspected of stealing jewelry from a household, he was allegedly treated violently, physically and psychologically, by police from Hancesti. On November 26, the children ombudswoman went to his place to establish the whereabouts. The parliamentary lawyer found that the police did not start the penal proceedings on this case. Tatiana Plamadeala has asked the prosecutors to solve the case and to take steps to prevent law breeches by the police.
