Thirty two children from the families of refugees will receive backpacks with supplies for school and kindergarten. The aid is offered by the NGO “Salvati copii” (Save the children). President of the organisation Vasile Batcu specified that the aid will be provided to the children from the families coming from Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine, Syria and other countries, not from Moldova. According to the quoted source, all the children live in families with difficult material situation. Despite the efforts undertaken by the authorities during the last few years, the situation of the refugees got worse. The prices have significantly increased, and the possibilities to earn money are limited. The economic entities avoid employing the refugees or the persons soliciting asylum. One of the reasons is the fact that they did not specify in the IDs a personal fiscal code. There are about 20 families of refugees in Moldova. “Our country is not very attractive for refugees, as it is one of the poorest countries in Europe. Already for many years Moldova is a transit country for the refugees and they hope to move to other countries. The persons staying in Moldova are usually those who create a family here”, Vasile Batcu emphasised. The expenditures of NGO “Salvati Copii” for the education necessities of the refugees amount to over MDL 100 thousand, of which MDL 30 – for school supplies.
