Children of patients of Dialysis Center celebrate their day alongside their hero parents

The children of persons whose life depends on dialysis celebrated the International Children’s Day alongside their heroes – the parents. In an event staged at the BB-Dializa Center in Chisinau on June 1, the children transmitted messages of love and recognition to their parents and told them how much they inspire them, IPN reports.

Alexandrina Ocheretnyi said her father Sergiu Ocheretnyi is an extraordinary parent and a real hero. He has been on dialysis for three years and in the period has done his best to have a more involved life near his family. “He is a teacher. He teaches civic education to students. I can say that my father is a life teacher for me. He explains to me what’s good and what’s bad and is the person who motivated me to gain new experiences. He always finds something interesting to attract our attention,” stated Alexandrina Oceretnyi.

Igor Detishen, the father of Maria Detishen, has been on dialysis for eight years. Four years ago he lost sight. The news that her father is sick and needs dialysis came as a serious blow and the news that her father lost sight affected her even more. But the family is making effort to cope with the difficulties. She now helps her father and thanks him for all the nice things they experience together and tells him that she loves him very much.

For Mihaela Vescu, her father is a hero who can fulfil all her dreams and transform the impossible into possible. When she was a kid, she compared her father with positive animated cartoon characters. The life of her farther Tudor Vescu, who has been on dialysis for six years, is not at all easy, but he found strength to go on after each failure.

Andrei Stefanco has been on dialysis for three years. In the message addressed to him by his daughter Cristina, this thanks him for never stopping to think about his daughters. By his example, he inspires them to go on regardless of the situation. “My wish is to become a good doctor so as to help my father because it is very hard for me to see him suffering,” wrote Cristina Stefanco, who celebrates her birthday today.

BB-Dializa Center brand manager Svetlana Chitanu said the idea of organizing such an event appeared after one of the children, Maria Detishen, two years ago chose her father as the protagonist of a composition about one’s hero at school. “We decided to offer such a positive example at our center and to hear what other children think about their patents. We are surrounded by persons who deserve to be given as an example. The heroes of these children are our heroes too,” stated Svetlana Chitanu.

BB-Dializa Center psychologist Diana Stirbu noted that the organization of such events is very important as the patients, having to often attend the center for dialysis, are limited in doing many things. Such events encourage them to struggle further. “This event had a very powerful emotional impact on the patients and, in the future, I hope we will organize more such events so as to improve the mental state of our patients,” stated Diana Stirbu.

The event ended with the release of balloons into the sky. The balloons had wishes of patients and children written on them. Most of these said they want their families to be healthy, happy and always together.

The BB-Dializa Center of Chisinau serves about 400 patients, which is more than half of the persons who need dialysis in Moldova. The patients benefit from dialysis services based on the health insurance policy. A similar center was recently opened in Balti municipality. This can serve over 200 patients with chronic kidney disease, which is twice more than the actual number of persons in need of dialysis in norther Moldova. According to official reports, over 600 persons in Moldova are on dialysis.
