The MPs have the possibility of finding out what will make the Moldovan children happier at an exhibition set up in the Palace of the Republic. The exhibit dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child includes several stands with messages on them, Info-Prim Neo reports. Most of the messages contain wishes of health for the dearest ones, of peace in the country and that the parents return from abroad. The history of the exhibition started on November 21, when children together with their parents went to a festivity held at MallDova Shopping Centre to express their wishes. Liliana Palihovich, the head of the parliamentary commission for social protection, health and family, said the exhibition aims to sensitize the people, especially the MPs, to the problem of children’s rights in Moldova. ”As a mother and as MP, I think that the countries where children’s rights are respected are preposterous. I’m convinced that by investing in children, the state will gain advantages, but the investments must be made at the correct time,” Liliana Palihovich said. According to her, the children always say what they think - they say the truth. These messages could inspire the parliamentarians so that they promote a correct legislation that will benefit the children. MP of the Moldova Noastra Alliance Iurie Colesnic said the children are the country’s tomorrow and they show how the future will be, but the MPs are not magicians and cannot make all the dreams come true. However, they can select important ideas that they can put into practice. Liberal MP Corina Fusu said most of the children want their parents and grandparents to return home from abroad. “We must implement reforms and create workplaces so that the parents remain in the country as they are the children’s support.” The exhibition was organized by the parliamentary commission for social protection, health and family in partnership with the UNICEF Representative Office in Moldova and the Media Youth Center.
