The Chisinau Public Health Center said a number of cases of acute diarrheal diseases among children aged between two and three were reported at municipal kindergarten No. 25 during February 16 – 20, IPN reports.

Four children with infection symptoms were admitted to the Municipal Clinical Hospital of Infectious Diseases, while two are treated in ambulatory conditions.

During inspections at kindergarten No. 25, it was established that the group was 80% overcrowded given the shortage of educator assistants, that the disinfection regime wasn’t respected, etc. The personnel of the institution denied that the children consumed food products outside the kindergarten’s menu. Specialists took samples for lab tests. Group No. 9 was closed as of February 17.

As regards last week’s incident at a kindergarten in Tohatin, which was supplied with frozen fish of a poor quality, the representatives of the Public Health Center said they cannot pronounce until the lab test results are not made available.
