Children in difficulty to receive benefits for continuing studies

The children who remained without parental care on a permanent basis or a temporarily basis may receive benefits for continuing their studies in secondary vocational education institutions, universities or boarding schools. A bill to this effect was submitted to Parliament, IPN reports.

According to one of the authors of the bill Valentina Stratan, the bill is designed to promote programs to support these students and to encourage them to continue their studies. The need to regulate this right derives from the fact that the quality of training now became one of the essential conditions for getting a job. Currently, only the skilled employees can be competitive on the market.

If Parliament passes this bill, the method of setting the benefit, its size and the payment method will be approved by the Government.

Under the bill, the families with three children and more should benefit from a yearly lump sum calculated for every child, depending on the lowest guaranteed monthly income stipulated in the state budget law for the next year.

Valentina Stratan said this state benefit will support the families with more than three children. The law will also have a positive impact on the demographic factors.
