Children from flood-hit villages accommodated in summer camps
About 60 children from the flood-affected Hancesti area have been placed in summer camps, where their stay will be covered by the government, Info-Prim Neo has learned from Deputy Education Minister Loretta Handrabura.
32 children from Nemteni were accommodated at Ciresarii camp in Vadul lui Voda as 26 children for the neighboring village of Cotul Morii went to the summer camp Alunelul in Danceni, Ialoveni.
Another group of children, 23 from Cotul Morii and 17 from Sarateni, were identified on Friday to be subsequently placed in summer camps. At the same time, a number of preschool age children will be placed in a recently renovated day-and-night-care kindergarten in Leuseni.
Loretta Handrabura said the situation was “under control” but encouraged people to donate basic goods for the children. “Some got out of the house with only what they had on them at that moment”, added the deputy minister.
