Children from flood-hit settlements continue to be accommodated at summer camps
A number of 63 children from Cotul Morii and Nemteni villages of Hancesti district have been evacuated and lodged at the summer camps “Alunelul” and “Ciresarii”. In a communique, the Government says another 67 children were accommodated at the camp in Horjesti, but will be soon taken to the camp “Codreanca” in Hancesti.
Forty-nine children will be housed at the camps “Camping”, “Zambetul”, “Luceafarul” and the Ministry of Defense's camp in Vadul lui Voda town.
Deputy Minister of Education Loretta Handrabura said the evacuation and lodging of children at summer camps will continue.
“The children from the flood-stricken areas are evacuated only with the parents' consent. Initially, many parents refused to allow their children to go to summer camps, but later understood it was better for them,” she said.
Teams of psychologists work in the affected areas. Psychologists and volunteers provide services in summer camps as well.
