Children from families on low incomes to receive lump sums at school year start
The families with four children and more, the one-parent families, the families on low incomes and which bring up children with disabilities, the noninstitutionalized orphans and children raised in family-type children’s homes will benefit from financial assistance at the start of the school year, the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family has said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
A sum of 6.6 million lei was allocated from the national social support fund to the local social support funds for the purpose. The financial assistance for a child will be minimum 200 lei. In the municipality of Chisinau, the lump sums will represent 600 lei per child.
The education institutions will choose the beneficiaries in concert with the public commissions for distributing financial assistance working under the mayors’ offices.
More than 31,000 socially underprivileged families with children of school age received financial assistance at the start of the school year in 2010.
