Over 40 children with special needs from 17 centers located in Chisinau, Orhei and Leova showcased their skills at an exhibition of handmade works, Info-Prim Neo reports. The hall of the Government Building housed an exhibit of paintings, bead jewels, Christmas and New Year greetings, embroideries, souvenirs and paper works. “The children made flowers from leaves and fir trees from paper. They worked during over three weeks. We have talented children who are able to see something in nothing,” said Tamara Pisarenko, a teacher of the Vatra-based Center for Orphans in the Post-Institutional Period. “I made a tree from beads. I worked on it for about two weeks. I like making jewels and will continue with this passion,” said Daniela, from the Buiucani Center for Orphans. Prime Minister Vlad Filat bought a number of exhibits, including a tablecloth and decorative objects. “I’m very impressed by these children who are an example for us by their courage and thirst for life. Here are many beautiful things that convey a special energy,” he stated. The exhibition was mounted on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities that is marked on December 3.
