According to Minister of Social Protection, Family and Child Galina Balmos, the intention of the exhibition, which has reached its second edition, is to showcase the creation of the persons who, despite the difficulties facing them, try to assert their identities and prove their faith and love for life. The works are notable for their originality, every one of them representing the image of a great heart, the minister noted. More than 20 participating institutions have displayed about 700 items with prices ranging from 20 to 150 lei. Both the exhibitors and the visitors believe such art events are very welcome. As the children with hearing impairments from the Chisinau-based school no.4 said, this year the fair is much better organized and more diversified. The children said the money collected from the sold items would go to cover some everyday expenses, and hoped that this year they would do better than 300 lei, the money they raised last year. The fair is organized by the Ministry of Social Protection, Family and Child, the Ministry of Education and Youth, the Metropolitanate of Moldova, the Department for Children’s Rights Protection of Chisinau, and the Network of NGOs working in the social field. Last year’s event brought together exhibitors from 18 institutions. The total amount collected was approximately 9,000 lei (about $870).
