The children and adults with cystic fibrosis from Moldova will be able to receive a new medicine and the medical device needed for administering this daily. Such a decision was taken by the council that decides what drugs are compensated with mandatory health insurance funds, IPN reports.
All the 38 persons diagnosed with this rare disease will get the medicine Dornase Alfa and the nebulizer, which will be issued by the Mother and Child Institute. The institution was supplied with the necessary quantity of medicines and number of devices through centralized public procurement.
Dornase Alfa contributes to preventing lung infections and improving the functions of lung in persons with cystic fibrosis. The cost of the annual treatment with this drug for a person is of over 100,000 lei.
