Childhood celebrated in the central park of Chisinau

Hundreds of children and parents gathered together in the Public Garden “Stefan cel Mare” in Chisinau to celebrate the International Children’s Day. Those attending enjoyed music, dances and were congratulated by officials. Minister of Education Maia Sandu wished the children to have a nice childhood alongside the parents and friends, while the UNICEF Representative in Moldova Alexandra Yuster urged them to love each other and to help other children to defend their rights, IPN reports.

“The children have rights, as the grownups. Dear children, a right means something that belongs to you.  Nobody can deprive you of rights. Yu have the right to family, education, health, to love and to be loved,” said Alexandra Yuster.

Children are the foundation on which society is built because they are sincere and with the heart open, said writer Spiridon Vangheli. “I have always been near children. I will never leave them, only when I’m gone. Childhood is the greatest present offered by God to people. The children passed to the next grade, while the adults did not. We, the grownups, should study at their school to be more sincere and pure, to be better,” he stated.

The holiday atmosphere was seasoned by singer Adrian Ursu and the ensemble Lollipop. There was staged a flashmob meeting on social inclusion of persons with disabilities, while some of the volunteers distributed informational brochures on children’s rights.
