Following the suspension of the program dubbed “A New Life”, the monetary equivalent of the baby box bundle (1,608 lei) will be added to the lump-sum childbirth allowance, which will thus increase to 7,911 lei.
The measure will be applicable until the end of the year, under a Government decision.
The Government also considers ordering a survey to ask expectant families whether they would prefer to have the so-called baby box or its monetary equivalent.
